Senior Engineer

Our client is a US-based manufacturer and they have more than 18 locations worldwide including their Johor branch. They are currently looking for a Senior Engineer with strong optics manufacturing background.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Design, cost, develop, and implement manufacturing processes that optimize efficiency,
  stabilize yields, and enhance capabilities from concept through to full-scale production.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and QA teams to drive continuous quality
  improvement and resolve both internal and external customer complaints effectively.
• Support the quotation process by conducting technical manufacturability assessments
  and estimating labor, machine time, yield, and tooling costs.
• Manage First Article (FA) projects in coordination with Program Management by planning
  production processes, designing tooling, troubleshooting issues, and conducting postproject evaluations.
• Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives aimed at enhancing manufacturing
  capabilities, using tools such as DFMEA and PFMEA to assess and mitigate risks.
• Provide technical guidance to technicians on manufacturing processes, foster open
  discussions, identify training needs, and offer direct, constructive feedback to support skill
  development.
• Develop and implement process monitoring plans to ensure stable, consistent, and
  efficient operations.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, work
  instructions, process plans, and related materials.
• Support change management efforts related to process updates and document control.
• Partner with Manufacturing Technology and R&D teams to transition new processes and
  technologies from Beta phase into full-scale production.
• Facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer across departments and manufacturing
  sites to promote standardization and shared best practices
